Maria Paula in downtown São Paulo - 2018
The work is part of the research on the migratory route of birds. These routes are designed by punching the maps of inflight magazines of different airlines. The dotted lines of these displacements end up interfering in the design of the planes' routes. The pages were acquired from a request made to friends who were traveling temporarily. On bird rings, known as the international bird passport, the name of migratory birds and their origins are engraved. In different sizes, each ring corresponds to the size of the bird.
The term Flyway, used for both aircraft and bird routes, looks at the passenger displacement of planned trips. Migratory birds also plan their trips with dates of coming and going and which are also voluntary, intentional and periodic in nature. Enjoy new landscapes and climate.
On this trip, the traveler is imbued with needs and desires, which become tangible in the exchange between time, space and people. The work proposes a reflection on the passage and the question of belonging to the place and also on the fruition and exchange of cultures, revealing significant changes in our habits.
